We believe that young children learn best through play and hands-on free choice type activities, along with a developmental program that meets the emotional, social, academic, physical, and spiritual needs of the child. We believe in letting "children be children". We believe in promoting self-control in children which comes from a lot of practice in decision making.
License We are licensed by the State of Michigan, and we comply with all the requirements for the operation of a child care center; ages six weeks through twelve years.
Discipline We believe in using a positive approach when disciplining the children. We encourage them to develop self-control, to become self-directed, to treat others with respect, and to obey. If a problem develops, the teacher will talk with the child, and perhaps give him a "time out" away from the other children. We do not use physical punishments, such as spankings. Please note: Discipline policy packet provided in your family packet.
Communication You will be made aware of your child's classroom schedule, activities, field trips, and various other items of interest through periodical newsletters, reminders on entrance door, as well as daily communication with your child's teachers.
Infant & Toddler Program Our infant/Toddler program begins a six weeks and continues through 2 1/2 years. We try to meet every need through daily activity, a needs-response record, and individual loving attention. Daily Activity Our staff services to meet each child's developmental need through play, singing, large and small motor skills, and reading. Daily Chart Our staff work closely with each parent to keep children on a projected feeding and nap schedule. A record is given to each parent including feeding, bottles, nap, medication, diaper changes, detailing the child's individual schedule, daily.
Walkers & Toddlers Program In addition to the basic program, walkers and toddlers are taught small and large muscle development through games, outdoor play, and music.
