Return to Bethany Assembly

Ministries

In the good ol' days neighbors talked over picket fences, and kids rushed through their homework to go outside and play impromptu games of kickball, hold important meetings in unstable tree forts, take turns being the mom or teacher, and hold life-or-death baseball games with too few players. Those of you born before the advent of the internet and PlayStation may remember those days. But times have changed. (Cliche, I know...but nonetheless true.) It's no wonder so many people feel isolated and lonely.

We believe that we are called as a church to reverse that trend. There is always something going on around here. A little something for everyone. Our vision is to meet people wherever they are in the timeline of life and provide opportunities to connect with those who are like-minded.

Here are just a few ways you can connect at Bethany:

  • Regularly attend one of four Sunday worship services.
  • Join a Life Change Class and find the support you need in your time of life.
  • Attend a Life Development class and become a partner.
  • Attend any one of Bethany many classes on Sunday and throughout the week to help you grow in your faith.
  • Volunteer to serve and become an active partner at Bethany.
  • Join a Life Group. These groups meet on the 1st and 3rd Sunday evening of each month in homes all over Lenawee County.

We believe that people are the most fulfilled when they are using their unique talents to build something bigger than themselves. With that in mind, Bethany offers more than 100 ministries for people to get involved in.

Our Philosophy - We believe that children are a gift from God, and that they need a loving, nurturing environment in which to grow and develop. We believe that young children learn best through play and hands-on free choice type activities, along with a developmental program that meets the emotional, social, academic, physical, and spiritual needs of the child.

We believe in letting "children be children". We believe in promoting self-control in children which comes from a lot of practice in decision making.

License

We are licensed by the State of Michigan, and we comply with all the requirements for the operation of a child care center; ages six weeks through twelve years.

Discipline

We believe in using a positive approach when disciplining the children. We encourage them to develop self-control, to become self-directed, to treat others with respect, and to obey. If a problem develops, the teacher will talk with the child, and perhaps give him a "time out" away from the other children. We do not use physical punishments, such as spankings. Please note: Discipline policy packet provided in your family packet.

Communication

You will be made aware of your child's classroom schedule, activities, field trips, and various other items of interest through periodical newsletters, reminders on entrance door, as well as daily communication with your child's teachers.

Infant & Toddler Program
